Introduction the Green Patch Association
The Green Patch Association has been active in the fields of rural and settlement development, nature, environmental and property protection as well as education and culture since 2013. Through spreading information about nature and environmental protection, it has been organizing various events, camps, educational programmes, presentations, gatherings and excursions, but it has also been dealing with research programmes. Among the members of the organization you can find a public administration specialist, a teacher, a financial expert who is experienced in public administration, a legal expert, a computer scientist, a nurse, an old-age pensioner and a college student. All of them are characterized by the love they feel for the region and nature, local patriotism and responsibility for future generations – all of these factors encouraged them to establish this Association.
The seat of the Association – which has been active in the region of Kis-Balaton where small villages can be found – is in Zalamerenye where two hundred people live. We consider it important that there are people from Zalamerenye and also its neighbourhood among the members of the Association. Thus, they are familiar with all the challenges which people living in these communities face due to their different living environment. The inhabitants of villages and towns are under the necessity of responding to different environmental and social challenges. It is therefore important that the member of the Association are directly linked to different environmental systems in order to guarantee the way of looking at things from many aspects and approaching problems variedly.
